Many international investors have set their eyes on the Italian real estate market, waiting for prices to further decrease. Among them there are the sovereign fund of Singapore and SOFAZ of Azerbaijan, whose head Shahmar Movsumov has publicly declared their interest in Italian real estate assets. “We are interested in purchasing real estate assets in Italy” Shahmar Movsumov said on MF. SOFAZ, the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan created in 1999, manages over $33 bn. Shahmar Movsumov didn’t given any precise figures on their investment in Italy, but he noted that the Group is planning to buy offices to let in several Italian cities.
