530 thousand public assets have been registered (220 million square metres) for an overall value of Euro 240-320 bn. These are the figures presented during the Committee of Bilancio della Camera by the General Director of Finance and Privatisation of Treasury, Francesco Parlato, during a hearing on the dismissal programme. However Parlato has noted that 70% of the assets are dedicated to institutional activities (only 9% residential) and therefore such properties cannot be sold.
